Liftgate Release Switch: Removal

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to: Liftgate Trim Panel - 5-Door .
  2. NOTE: The liftgate is shown transparent for clarity. The liftgate release switch assembly must be released from inside the liftgate.

    Remove the liftgate release switch assembly.

    1. Release the retaining clips and position the liftgate release switch assembly away from the liftgate.
    2. Disconnect the liftgate release electrical connector.
    3. If equipped. Disconnect the rear parking aid camera electrical connector.
    4. Remove the liftgate release switch assembly.

  3. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    If equipped. Remove the rear parking aid camera.
