Active Grille Shutter - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4: Removal

Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
Remove the CAC. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) .
- Remove the retaining clips and the upper air deflector.
- Remove the screws, detach the active grille shutter retaining tabs from the lower air deflector and remove.

Remove the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement bolts.
Torque

:1: 17 lb.ft (23 Nm) 2: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

- Support the hood with suitable tool.
- Position the hood rod down.

1. Remove the cap.
2. Remove the filler neck from the windshield washer reservoir.

Pull the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement forward and detach it from the windshield washer reservoir.

Lift the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement up releasing it from radiator then position aside it.

- Release the locking tabs.
- Raise the active grille shutter to separate from the radiator.

Remove the active grille shutter.
