Audio Unit Antenna Cable: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: The body antenna cables are part of the vehicle wiring harness. Because the antenna cable cannot be removed from the body harness this procedure applies to overlaying the antenna cable on the existing body harness.

NOTE: Steps 1 thru 9 apply for access to the instrument panel antenna cable only.

Remove the RH cover. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Remove and discard the push pin, release the clips and remove the RH floor console lower trim panel.

Disconnect the body to instrument panel antenna cable in-line connector.

Remove the selector lever trim ring. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Remove the instrument panel center finish panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Release the clips and remove the floor console upper finish panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Remove the screws, release the clips and remove the floor console upper trim panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.in (2 Nm)

Remove the bolts and the ACM.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  Torque
  
  : 22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

Remove the bolts and the FDIM.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Remove the headliner. Refer to: Headliner - 4-Door . Refer to: Headliner - 5-Door .
Remove lower B-pillar trim panel.

Remove the following items:
1. Remove the passenger front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
2. Remove the gearshift lever. Refer to: Gearshift Lever - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6/6-Speed Manual Transmission - MMT6 . Refer to: Selector Lever Assembly .
3. Remove the parking brake control. Refer to: Parking Brake Control .
Disconnect antenna connectors, release the retaining tabs and position the wiring harness aside.

With the hep of an assistant.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt, release the retaining tab and remove the audio unit antenna mast.
  Torque
  
  : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Position aside the RH front carpet.
