Module Network Input Messages - ACM

Broadcast Message	Originating Module	Message Purpose
Active noise audio status (2.3L GTDI only)	IPC	Used to indicate the operating status of the ESE system (active/inactive), if the audio system is in standby mode, on, or off, and if the ESE frequency signals need to be mixed with the audio signals from the DACMC.
Audio volume command	FCIM	Used for set volume from the FCIM to the ACM.
Beltminder audio mute	IPC	Used to mute speaker output so the Belt-Minder® tone can be heard. This message only applies to vehicles with MyKey® enabled.
Chime request	IPC	Used to mute the audio system so a chime from the IPC can be heard.
Day/night status	BCM	Used for day/night illumination status for the audio system.
FCIM button state	FCIM	Indicates when a button is pressed on the FCIM so the audio system can make the desired setting change.
Ignition status	BCM	RUN, START and ACCESSORY ignition states required for ACM operating modes and fault reporting.
MyKey® volume limit status	IPC	Used to limit the audio system volume when a MyKey® restricted key is in use.
Power mode	IPC	Used to disable the functionality of the ACM due to the load shedding feature.
Selector lever (PRNDL) status	BCM	Used to verify the gear lever position for vehicle direction data for parking aid tone readiness.
Set point volume	FCIM	Used for volume adjustment set point from the FCIM to the ACM.
Set volume	FCIM	Used for set volume from the FCIM to the ACM.
Steering wheel switch multimedia data	APIM	Used for the RH lower steering wheel switch input signal to operate the volume +/- and seek +/-.
Steering wheel switch multimedia data	IPC	Used for the RH upper steering wheel switch input to operate the mode function.
SYNC® alerts	APIM	Used for text message, news, sports, weather, satellite radio artist/title favorites (if activated), and traffic alert notifications.
Transport mode	IPC	Used to disable the functionality of the ACM until taken out of transport mode.
Vehicle configuration data	BCM	Used to verify vehicle configuration data such as the VIN and system module configuration.
Vehicle configuration/Information	IPC	Used for vehicle configuration information to the ACM.
Vehicle speed	PCM	Used for the speed compensated volume function.
Volume cutback	IPC	Used to reduce the volume from the audio system so an IPC warning notification or parking aid chime can be heard.

Module Network Input Messages - APIM

Broadcast Message	Originating Module	Message Purpose
ACM CD information	ACM	ACM sends CD information to be displayed on the FDIM.
ACM configuration	ACM	Used to verify the correct configuration and modules are installed.
ACM radio functions	ACM	Used to display the ACM radio functions such as seek, tune and AM/ FM stations on the FDIM.
ACM sound options	ACM	Used to display the ACM radio sound functions such as treble, bass, navigation command, volume, and phone volume on the FDIM.
Airbag deployment status	RCM	Used to indicate that air bag deployment has occurred.
Audio settings	ACM	Used to display the audio sound functions such as treble, bass, navigation command volume, and phone volume on the FDIM.
Beltminder audio mute	IPC	Used to mute speaker output so the Belt-Minder® tone can be heard. This message only applies to vehicles with MyKey® enabled.
Beltminder audio status	ACM	Used to monitor the status of the Belt-Minder chime from the IPC.
Day/night status	BCM	Used for day/night illumination status for the FDIM.
eCall notification	RCM	Used to notify of a 911 assist call being initiated due to air bag deployment.
FCIM button state	FCIM	Indicates when a button is pressed on the FCIM so the audio system can make the desired setting change.
HD Radio® status	ACM	Used for sending the HD Radio® status to the APIM to be displayed on the FDIM.
Ignition status	BCM	RUN, START and ACCESSORY ignition states required for APIM operating modes and fault reporting.
Illumination dimming level	BCM	Controls the backlight intensity, based on the input from the dimmer switch.
MyKey® volume limit status	IPC	Used by the ACM to limit the audio system volume when a MyKey® restricted key is in use.
Navigation rolling wheel count and direction	ABS module	This message provides for more accurate tracking of the vehicle position when the GPS signal is temporarily unavailable.
Power mode	IPC	Used to disable the functionality of the APIM due to the load shedding feature.
Satellite radio function	ACM	Used to display the satellite radio modes and functions.
Selector lever (PRNDL) status	BCM	Used to verify the gear lever position for navigation vehicle direction data.
Transport mode	IPC	Used to disable the functionality of the APIM until taken out of transport mode.
Vehicle configuration data	BCM	Used to verify vehicle configuration data such as the VIN and system module configuration.
Vehicle configuration/Information	IPC	Used for vehicle configuration information to the APIM.
Vehicle speed	PCM	Used for navigation functionality.

Module Network Input Messages - Audio DSP Module

Broadcast Message	Originating Module	Message Purpose

Ignition status	BCM	Used to indicate the ignition state (OFF, ACCESSORY, CRANK, RUN, and START) required for audio DSP module operating modes and fault reporting.
MyKey® Belt-Minder® audio mute	IPC	Used to mute speaker output so the Belt-Minder® tone can be more easily heard. This message only applies to vehicles with a MyKey® enabled and in use. The audio system is muted until the safety belt(s) are buckled.
MyKey® volume limit status	IPC	Used to limit the maximum audio system volume when a MyKey® restricted key is in use.
Power up chime modules	IPC	Used to initiate the audio system as the chime source.
Set point volume	FCIM	Used to set the audio DSP module volume.
Vehicle configuration data	BCM	Used to verify vehicle configuration data such as the VIN and system module configuration.

Module Network Input Messages - DACMC (2.3L GTDI Only)

Broadcast Message	Originating Module	Message Purpose
Accelerator pedal position	PCM	Used to determine the accelerator pedal position percentage for the ESE system operation.
Engine RPM data	PCM	Used to determine the engine rotation speed for the ESE system operation.
Engine status	PCM	Used to enable the ESE system if the engine is ON, or to disable the ESE system if the engine is OFF.
Engine torque	PCM	Used for ESE system operation by indicating the amount of engine torque being produced (in Nm).
Ignition status	BCM	Used to indicate the ignition state (OFF, ACCESSORY, RUN, and START) required for DACMC operating modes and fault reporting.
