Audio Unit Antenna Cable: Removal

The Antenna Cables Are Part Of The Vehicle Wiring Harness Because The Cables Cannot Be Removed From The Harness, This Procedure Applies To The Replacement Of The Cables Only.

NOTE: Steps 2 Thru 17 Apply For Access To The Lower Antenna Cable Only. - Vehicles With Manual Transmission. Release The Clips And Position The Bezel Aside.
- Vehicles With Automatic Transmission. Release The Clips, Disconnect The Electrical Connector And Position The Bezel Aside.
- Position The Front Door Weatherstrip Aside, Release The Clips And Remove The Lh Instrument Panel Finish Panel.
- If Equipped. Remove The Screws, Release The Clips, Disconnect The Electrical Connectors And Remove The Steering Column Opening Trim Panel. Refer To: Driver Knee Airbag

- Vehicles Without Center Armrest. Remove And Discard The Push-Pin, Release The Clips And Remove The Lh Floor Console Side Trim Panel.
- Vehicles With Center Armrest. Remove And Discard The Push-Pin, Release The Clips And Remove The Lh Floor Console Side Trim Panel.
- Vehicles Without Center Armrest. Position Aside The Parking Brake Handle Boot, Release The Clip And Remove The Parking Brake Trim Panel Over The Parking Brake Handle.
- Vehicles Without Center Armrest. Remove The Screws And The Rh Floor Console Finish Panel.
Torque
: 18 Lb.In (2 Nm)
- Vehicle With Center Armrest. Remove The Screws And The Rh Floor Console Finish Panel.
- Remove And Discard The Push-Pin, Release The Clips And Remove The Rh Floor Console Side Trim Panel.
- Vehicles With Center Armrest.
- Position Aside The Parking Brake Lever Trim Panel.
- Release The Clip And Remove The Lh Floor Console Finish Panel.
- Vehicles Without Center Armrest. Release The Clips And Remove The Lh Floor Console Finish Panel.NOTE: Sony® Sound Shown, Premium And Base Audio Similar.
- Disconnect Antenna Connectors.
- Remove The Screws, Release The Clips, Disconnect The Electrical Connectors And Remove The Climate Control Assembly.
Torque
: 9 Lb.In (1 Nm)
- Remove The Acm. Refer To: Audio Front Control Module (Acm) Vehicles With: Sony Audio System . refer To: audio Front Control Module (Acm) Vehicles With: Am/Fm/Cd/Sync .
- Disconnect The Electrical Connectors.

NOTE: Steps 18 Thru 23 Apply For Access To The Upper Antenna Cable Only.
Remove The Headliner. Refer To: Headliner - 5-Door . refer To: Headliner - 4-Door .
- Remove Lower B-Pillar Trim Panel.

NOTE: 5-Door Only
Remove The Following Items:
- Remove The Passenger Front Seat. Refer To: Front Seat .
- Remove The Gearshift Lever. Refer To: Gearshift Lever - 5-Speed Manual Transmission - B5/Ib5/5-Speed Manual Transmission - Mtx75 . refer To: Selector Lever Assembly .
- Remove The Parking Brake Control. Refer To: Parking Brake Control .
- Disconnect Antenna Connectors, Release The Retaining Tabs And Position The Wiring Harness Aside.
- With The Hep Of An Assistant.
- Disconnect The Electrical Connectors.
- Remove The Bolt, Release The Retaining Tab And Remove The Audio Unit Antenna Mast.
Torque
: 89 Lb.In (10 Nm)
- Position Aside The Rh Front Carpet.
