Receiver Drier - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4: Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in this article
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
If equipped. Remove the retainers and the shield.

Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

Remove the retainers and the lower radiator splash shield.

Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness.

1. If equipped. Drill out the rivet. Install a new rivet during installation.
2. Remove the bolts and the lower cooling module bracket.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Remove the receiver drier cap.

Push the receiver drier plug upwards, remove the snap ring.

Install an M5 bolt in the center of the receiver drier plug and remove the receiver drier plug.

Using a pick tool, remove the receiver drier element.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. Use the General Equipment: Pick Hook
