Condenser - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4: Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in this article.
Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wiring harness retainer.

Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant tube.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
1. Remove the bolts, nut and disconnect the A/C lines from the condenser.
  Torque
  
  :1.: 159 lb.in (18 Nm) 2.: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.

Pull the radiator hoses spring clips until the end of the clips are in the detent on the quick connect coupling and disconnect the radiator hoses.

Loosen the clamps and disconnect the CAC pipes.

If equipped. Remove the 6-speed automatic transmission (6DCT250) cooler line retainers.
Torque

: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Detach the electrical connectors and the wiring harness retainer from the lower radiator support.

Remove the fasteners and the cooling module.

Cut the foam seal. Use the General Equipment: Knife
