Condenser - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS): Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in this article.
Remove the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS) .
NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.

Lower and secure the cooling module. Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties

Release tab and remove the CAC bezel.

1. Remove the bolts and position the A/C lines aside.
  Torque
  
  : 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
2. Release the tab.
3. Cut the foam seal.
4. Release the tabs and remove the condenser.
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
