Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 1.0L EcoBoost (92kW/125PS): Removal

NOTE: During the removal of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove protective materials prior to installation.

Recover the refrigerant. Refer to the appropriate Recovery procedure in this article.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
If equipped. Remove the retainers and the bezel.

Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .
1. Remove the nuts and position the A/C lines aside.
  Torque
  
  : 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors, detach the wiring retainer, remove the bolts and the A/C compressor.
  Torque
  
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system.
