Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch and Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Field Coil: Removal

2.0L EcoBoost shown, other compressors are similar.
- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.0L Duratec-HE (125kW/170PS) - MI4 . Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Pressure Transducer - 2.0L Duratec-HE (125kW/170PS) - MI4 . Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Pressure Transducer - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4 . Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.3L EcoBoost (257kW/350PS) - MI4 .
- Remove the A/C clutch disc bolt and the A/C clutch disc. Use Special Service Tool: 412-134 Holding Tool, Compressor Clutch.
Torque
: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)
- Remove the A/C compressor pulley snap ring.

NOTE: Do not use air tools. Damage to the A/C clutch pulley or A/C compressor may result.
Remove the A/C pulley. Use Special Service Tool: 412-001 (T71P-19703-B) Remover, Compressor Pulley.
- Remove the A/C clutch field coil snap ring and the A/C clutch field coil.
