Pinpoint Test I : DTCS P0748:11, P0748:12, P0748:13, P0778:11, P0778:12, P0778:13

I1 CHECK FOR AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- CLEAR the DTCs, RERUN KOEO and KOER self-test.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all AWD, CMDTCs.
Is P0748:11, P0748:12, P0748:13, P0778:11, P0778:12 or P0778:13 Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) (DTCs) present?

Yes GO to I2

No GO to Pinpoint Test A

I2 CHECK THE AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) CLUTCH SOLENOID ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect AWD .

Disconnect Rear Drive Unit (RDU) .

Measure:

For AWD clutch solenoid - RH

Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?

Yes

GO to I3

No	INSTALL a new rear drive unit (RDU) jumper harness.

I3 CHECK THE AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) CLUTCH SOLENOID ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect Rear Drive Unit (RDU) .

Measure:

For AWD clutch solenoid - RH

NOTE: Leave wiring harness shield ground attached to the vehicle for this test.

Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?

Yes

GO to I4

No	REPAIR the circuit or INSTALL a new rear drive unit (RDU) jumper harness.

I4 CHECK THE AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) CLUTCH SOLENOID ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TOGETHER

Ignition OFF.

Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10, 000 ohms?

Yes

GO to I5

No	REPAIR the circuit or INSTALL a new rear drive unit (RDU) jumper harness. REFER to: Axle Assembly .

I5 CHECK THE AWD (ALL-WHEEL DRIVE) CLUTCH SOLENOIDS RESISTANCE VALUE

Ignition OFF.

Disconnect AWD .

Connect Rear Drive Unit (RDU) (If previously disconnected).

Measure:

Are the resistances between 1.3 to 4.0 ohms?

Yes	INSTALL a new AWD. REFER to: All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Module .

No	INSTALL a new rear drive unit (RDU). REFER to: Axle Assembly .
