Clutch System Bleeding - 6-Speed Manual Transmission - B6

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

Materials 

Bleeding 

1. NOTE: Make sure that fluid level is to the MAX mark.

   Fill the reservoir.

   Material

   : Motorcraft® DOT 4 LV High Performance Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid / PM-20 (WSS-M6C65-A2)

2. Remove the bleeder cap.

3. Install the following items:
   • Install a fluid suction gun hose. Use the General Equipment: Fluid Suction Gun

     Material

4. 1. Open the clutch bleeder.
   2. NOTE: Do not let the fluid go below the MIN mark on the reservoir.

      Vacuum brake fluid through the hydraulic system using the fluid suction gun. Use the General Equipment: Fluid Suction Gun

5. Close the clutch bleeder.

6. Install the clutch bleeder cap.

7. Pump the clutch pedal 5 times, using the full clutch pedal travel to remove any trapped air from the hydraulic system.

8. NOTE: Make sure that fluid level is to the MAX mark.

   Fill the reservoir.

9. Start the engine and check the operation of the clutch. If reverse gear engagement is excessively noisy, operate the clutch pedal 5 times, using the full clutch pedal travel.

10. After waiting approx. 30sec., check the operation of the clutch again. If reverse gear engagement is still excessively noisy, repeat the bleeding procedure.
