Selector Lever Cable: Installation

Position the selector lever cable in the vehicle.

Connect the selector lever cable to the retainer.

Position the exhaust heat shield and install the retainers.

Install the engine undershield and the fasteners.

Connect the selector lever cable to the selector lever.

Install the selector lever cable clip bolt.

Install the nuts and position the carpet.
Torque

: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

1. Install the instrument panel bracket and the bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
2. Torque
  : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Install the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Center Armrest . Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles Without: Center Armrest .
Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission.

Position the selector lever in D.

Unlock the selector lever cable adjuster.
- Pry the selector lever cable adjuster ears apart.
- Pull the selector lever adjuster lock out.

Verify the transmission manual lever is in D.

Lock the adjuster.

Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
Verify that the vehicle only starts in P and N and the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
