Catalyst Monitor Sensor: Removal

  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION (EXCEPT ELECTRIC) . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .

    1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe bolt.
    2. Loosen the air cleaner outlet pipe clamps and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

  3. Detach the wiring harness retainer and disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

  4. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  5. Remove the retainers and the engine undershield reinforcement.

  6. Remove the retainers and the engine undershield.

    • Remove the wire from the harness retainers.

    • Remove the catalyst monitor sensor. Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.
