Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

  1. NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

    Download the module information to the diagnostic tool using the PMI routine. Use the General Equipment: Ford Diagnostic Equipment

  2. Remove the LH front fender splash shield. Refer to: FENDER SPLASH SHIELD .
  3. Remove the retainers and the access cover.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors, position aside wiring harness and remove the PCM.
