Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the 8 retainers and the underbody insulator.

  3. Remove the right front wheel. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  4. Remove the 2 retainers and position aside the splash shield.

  5. NOTE: Typical application shown.

    1. By turning the crankshaft pulley bolt clockwise, feed the stretchy belt tool on to the crankshaft pulley approximately 90 degrees. Install Special Service Tool: 303-1419 Remover, 3.5L / 3.7L Stretchy Belt.
    2. Fold the stretchy belt tool under the inside of the A/C compressor belt as shown.
    3. In one quick motion, firmly pull the stretchy belt remover out of the RH fender well, removing the A/C compressor belt.
