Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube: Removal

  1. Remove the engine appearance cover.

    • During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

    • Whenever the turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover the open ports to protect them from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All of the components should be inspected and cleaned, if needed, prior to installation or reassembly.

    1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe retainer.
    2. Disconnect the quick release coupling and detach the hose retainers. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
    3. Loosen the clamps and remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.

    1. Remove the engine cover mounting stud.
    2. Remove the turbocharger inlet pipe nut.
    3. Loosen the clamp and remove the turbocharger inlet pipe.

  4. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  5. Remove the fasteners, then remove the engine underbody shield.

    • During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

    1. Remove the turbocharger oil supply tube retaining bolts, then remove and discard the turbocharger oil supply tube.

    1. Remove and discard the turbocharger oil supply filter.
