Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube: Installation

Inspect the banjo bolt for flatness and square-ness, and the sealing surface for damage. Install a new turbocharger oil supply tube O-ring seal and the new turbocharger oil supply tube sealing washers. Lubricate the new turbocharger oil supply tube O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

• During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

1. Install the new turbocharger oil supply filter.

• Carefully use a nylon brush to remove the old O-ring residue and use brake cleaner to rinse the O-ring residue out of the turbocharger O-ring bore. Inspect the area for deep scratches and gouges. DO-NOT USE A METAL BRUSH; DAMAGE TO SEALING AREA WILL RESULT IN LEAKS.

• During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

1. Install the turbocharger oil supply tube and the turbocharger oil supply tube retaining bolts finger tight at this stage.

   Torque

   :Tighten the turbocharger oil supply tube retaining bolt. : 89 lb.in (10 Nm) Tighten the turbocharger oil supply tube retaining banjo bolt. : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

• Whenever the turbocharger air intake system components are removed, always cover the open ports to protect them from debris. It is important that no foreign material enter the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes are susceptible to damage from even small particles. All of the components should be inspected and cleaned, if needed, prior to installation or reassembly.

1. Install the engine cover mounting stud.

   Torque

   : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

2. Install the turbocharger inlet pipe nut.

   Torque

   : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

3. Tighten the turbocharger inlet pipe clamp.

   Torque

   : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

1. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe, then install and tighten the air cleaner outlet pipe retainer.

   Torque

   : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

2. Connect the quick release coupling and attach the hose retainers. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
3. Tighten the air cleaner outlet pipe clamps.

   Torque

   : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
