Removal And Installation: Radiator: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Safety Warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION (EXCEPT ELECTRIC) . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

- Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R134A Refrigerant .
- Remove the fasteners and the A/C lines. Discard the O-rings and gasket seals.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .

NOTE: If equipped.
Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and wiring harness retainer. Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant tube.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the electrical connectors and wiring harness retainers from the lower radiator support.
- Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses from the radiator. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- If equipped, drill out the rivet that supports the lower support. Remove the fasteners and the cooling module.
- Remove the lower radiator support from the cooling module.
- Remove and discard the foam pad. Use the General Equipment: Knife
- Remove the clips and remove the active grill shutter assembly.
- Release the clips and remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
- Release the clips and remove the A/C condenser.
- Remove the lower radiator mounts.
