Electric Coolant Pump: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

WARNING: When releasing the cooling system pressure, cover the coolant expansion tank cap with a thick cloth.

Loosen the pressure relief cap.

1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Using a general tool, clamp both coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers
3. Release the hose clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
4. Remove the retainer and the electric coolant pump.
  Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
