Parking Brake Cable - Vehicles With: Rear Disc Brakes: Removal

Apply the parking brake and remove the parking brake control lever boot.

Release the parking brake and loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

Remove the rear wheels and tires. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
Remove and discard the nuts, detach the exhaust pipe and discard the gasket.
Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Remove the nuts and position the exhaust heat shield forward.
Torque

: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Remove the bolts and the underbody shield on both sides.

Remove the nuts and lower the exhaust heat shield.
Torque

: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Detach the front parking brake cable from the equalizer and detach the rear parking brake cables from the body.

Detach the parking brake cables from the brake calipers on both sides.
1. Rotate the brake caliper lever.
2. Detach the parking brake caliper from the brake caliper lever.
3. Detach the parking brake cable from the brake caliper bracket.

1. Remove the bolts and detach the parking brake cable brackets from the body on both sides.
  Torque
  
  : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
2. Remove the bolts and detach the parking brake cable brackets from the suspension arms on both sides.
  Torque
  
  : 17 lb.in (1.9 Nm)
- Detach the remaining parking brake cable brackets and remove the parking brake cables.
