Parking Brake Cable Adjustment - Vehicles With: Rear Drum Brakes

Adjustment 

  1. Apply the parking brake and remove the parking brake control lever boot.

  2. Release the parking brake and loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

  3. Refer to: Brake Shoe Adjustment .
  4. Install a cable tie around the RH rear brake shoe and the parking brake lever.

  5. Insert a 2mm hex wrench between the abutment on the LH parking brake lever and the brake shoe.

  6. Tighten the parking brake cable adjustment nut until the hex wrench falls.

  7. Cut and remove the cable tie.

  8. Apply the parking brake, install the parking brake lever boot and then release the parking brake.
