Generic Function Module 2 (GFM2): Removal

NOTE: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the C-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to: C-Pillar Lower Trim Panel .
  2. Remove the D-pillar trim panel. Refer to: D-Pillar Trim Panel - 5-Door .
  3. Remove the subwoofer speaker. Refer to: Subwoofer Speaker - RS .
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the DACMC and the DSP and position the wiring harness aside.

  5. Remove the retainers and remove the cargo area rear trim panel.

  6. Remove the load compartment floor sound insulator.

  7. Remove the LH load space trim panel.

  8. NOTE: The GFM2 is mounted to the LH fender well with Velcro®.

    Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the GFM2.
