Wheel Knuckle - RS: Installation

- If removed, install the wheel hub. Refer to: Wheel Hub - RS .
- Position the halfshaft and assemble the wheel knuckle.
- Tighten the lower strut-to-wheel knuckle nut and bolt.
Torque
:Stage 1: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm) Stage 2: 180°
- Using special tools, install the halfshaft into the wheel bearing and hub. Use Special Service Tool: 204-161 (T97P-1175-A) Installer, Halfshaft.
- Install the brake disc shield and tighten the bolts.
Torque
: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
- Position the wheel speed sensor and tighten the bolt.
Torque
: 42 lb.in (4.8 Nm)
- Connect the lower arm with the ball joint seal and install the new wheel knuckle bolt and nut.
Torque
: 61 lb.ft (83 Nm)
- Attach the tie rod end to the wheel knuckle and install the new tie rod end nut.
Torque
: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- Install the brake disc. Refer to: Brake Disc .

NOTE: Do not tighten the front wheel hub nut with the vehicle on the ground. The nut must be tightened to specification before the vehicle is lowered onto the wheels. Wheel bearing damage will occur if the wheel bearing is loaded with the weight of the vehicle applied.NOTE: Install and tighten the new wheel hub nut to specification in a continuous rotation. Always install a new wheel hub nut after loosening or when not tightened to specification in a continuous rotation or damage to the components may occur.NOTE: Apply the brake to keep the halfshaft from rotating.
Install the wheel hub nut.
Torque
:Stage 1: 81 lb.ft (110 Nm) Stage 2: 60°
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Check and if necessary adjust the front toe. Refer to: Front Toe Adjustment .
