Oil pump: Installation

Prime the oil pump. Add 2 tablespoons of clean engine oil to the oil pump and rotate the oil pump by hand.
Install the oil pump and the bolts.
Torque:

Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 nm)

Stage 2: 177 lb.in (20 nm)

Install the oil pump sprocket and bolt.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 nm)

1. WARNING: Take extra care when handling the compressed spring.
  
  Install the oil pump drive chain, tensioner and the shoulder bolts.
  
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 nm)
2. Hook the tensioner spring around the shoulder bolt.

Install the oil screen and pickup tube o-ring seal.

NOTE: If the oil pan is not secured within 10 minutes of sealant application, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with metal surface prep. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or 10 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.

Apply a 3 mm bead of silicone sealant.

Install the oil pan and the bolts finger tight.

Align the front surface of the oil pan flush with the front surface of the engine block. Use the general equipment: round-ended steel rule

Tighten the bolts in sequence shown.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 nm)

Position the ground cable and install the transmission-to-oil pan bolts.

Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil and install.
Material: motorcraft ® SAE 5w-30 synthetic blend motor oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

Torque:

Stage 1: 71 lb.in (8 nm)

Stage 2: 180 °

- Position the a/c compressor and install the bolts.
- Install the stud.
  Torque: 80 lb.in (9 nm)
- Install the nut.
- Tighten the bolts and the nut.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 nm)

Connect the wiring harness electrical connectors and the wiring harness retainer.

Position the a/c tube bracket and install the transmission-to-engine bolt.

If equipped, position the cabin heater coolant pump and install the nuts.

2. Tighten the clamp.

Remove special service tool: 303-F072 support bar, engine.

Connect the battery negative battery cable. refer to: Battery disconnect and connect .
Fill the engine with clean engine oil. refer to: specifications .
