Rear Bumper Cover: Disassembly

All vehicles 

  1. Refer to: Rear Bumper Cover .
  2. Disconnect and remove the rear bumper cover harness.

  3. NOTE: In four locations.

    1. Release 2 tabs.
    2. Remove the rear park aid sensor.

  4. NOTE: On both sides.

    Remove 3 screws and the rear marker lamp.

    Vehicles without trailer tow 

  5. Remove 4 screws and the lower bumper cover bracket.

    Vehicles with trailer tow 

  6. Remove 6 screws and the lower bumper cover bracket.

    All vehicles 

  7. Release 8 tabs and remove the rear bumper cover reinforcement.

    • Remove two pushpins.

    • Release 12 tabs and remove the lower bumper cover.

  9. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the hands free liftgate sensor.

    • Drill out two rivets.

    • Release 9 tabs and remove the center bumper cover.
