Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes: Removal

- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
- Remove the active grille shutters. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .
- Completely loosen the transmission fluid cooler tube-to-bypass valve fittings.
- Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube. Inspect the transmission to be sure that the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube seal or backing ring is stuck in the transmission, remove the seal and backing ring.
- Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube.
- Inspect the transmission to be sure that the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube seal or backing ring is stuck in the transmission, remove the seal and backing ring.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt.
- Disconnect the LH front height sensor electrical connector and the wiring harness pushpins and position the wiring harness aside.
- Remove the bolts and the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Inspect the transmission fluid cooler to be sure that the transmission fluid cooler tube seals and backing rings were removed with the transmission fluid cooler tubes and are not stuck in the transmission cooler. If the transmission fluid cooler tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the transmission cooler, remove the seals and backing rings.
