Front Halfshaft RH: Installation

- If equipped with AWD. Clean and inspect the inner halfshaft splines and mating surfaces.
- If equipped with FWD. Clean and inspect the inner halfshaft splines and mating surfaces.
- Clean and inspect the outer halfshaft splines and mating surfaces.
- If equipped with FWD, install a new halfshaft seal. REFER to: Halfshaft Seal RH - FWD .
- If equipped with AWD, install a new intermediate shaft seal. REFER to: Intermediate Shaft Seal .

NOTE: Do not fully install the shaft at this time.
Install the halfshaft through the seal protector. Using part: 4W1W-4N206-A

NOTE: Insert the intermediate shaft until the intermediate shaft bearing is centered in the concave groove of the intermediate shaft bearing bracket.
Remove the seal protector and insert the halfshaft until the intermediate shaft bearing is centered in the intermediate shaft bracket.
- Install the new halfshaft retaining strap and the 2 new halfshaft retaining strap nuts.
Torque:
Stage 1: Tighten upper nut to : 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
Stage 2: Tighten lower nut to : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
Stage 3: Tighten upper nut to : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Using the Halfshaft Installer, seat the halfshaft into the wheel hub. Use Special Service Tool: 204-161 (T97P-1175-A) Installer, Halfshaft.
- Insert the lower ball joint into the wheel knuckle and install a new bolt and nut.
Torque: 61 lb.ft (83 Nm)
- Install the new flexible brake hose bolt.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- If equipped position back the height sensor and install the height sensor bolt.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- If equipped, install the under body shield.

NOTE: Do not tighten the front wheel hub nut with the vehicle on the ground. The nut must be tightened to specification before the vehicle is lowered onto the wheels. Wheel bearing damage will occur if the wheel bearing is loaded with the weight of the vehicle applied.NOTE: Install and tighten the new wheel hub nut to specification in a continuous rotation. Always install a new wheel hub nut after loosening or when not tightened to specification in a continuous rotation or damage to the components may occur.
Using a assistant to compress the brake pedal tighten the wheel hub nut.
Torque:
Stage 1: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)
Stage 2: 90 °
- Install the wheel and tire. REFER to: Wheel and Tire .
- Check the transmission fluid level. REFER to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
- If equipped with dynamic suspension, calibrate the suspension height sensor. Connect the scan tool and carry out the Ride Height Calibration routine. Follow the scan tool directions.
