Active Grille Shutter: Removal

Remove the headlamp assemblies. REFER to: Headlamp Assembly .
If equipped, remove the cruise control module and cruise control module bracket. REFER to: Cruise Control Module (CCM) With: Adaptive Cruise Control .
On both sides. Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wire harness.

1. Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
2. Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

On both sides.
1. Rotate the stow knob from the LOCK position to the ASSEMBLE position.
2. Remove the pin-type retainer.
3. Remove the pin-type retainers.
4. Release the retaining tab.

1. Rotate the stow knobs from the ASSEMBLE position to the STOW position.
2. Position the active grille shutter away from the bumper to allow access to the bridge link and electrical connector.

1. Remove the bolts.
  Torque: 27 lb.in (3 Nm)
2. Release the retaining tabs and remove the bridge link.

Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the wire harness.

1. Rotate the stow knobs from the STOW position to the SHIP position.
2. Remove the active grille shutter.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the bolts and the horns.

Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
