Coolant Pump: Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding . Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.

  3. NOTE: Make sure the accessory drive belt is positioned so coolant can not contaminate the belt.

    Remove the accessory drive belt.

  4. NOTE: Cover the A/C belt to prevent coolant contamination of the belt.

    Completely cover the A/C belt with waterproof plastic.

  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.

  6. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump. Discard the O-ring seal.
