Rear Parking Lamps Operation (liftgate open)

- When the liftgate is open, the RGTM does not supply a liftgate ajar ground signal to the liftgate mounted LH and RH rear lamps and center parking lamp.
- When the liftgate mounted LH and RH rear lamps and center parking lamp sense no ground signal on the ajar signal circuit and voltage on the parking lamp circuit, the liftgate mounted parking lamps do not illuminate.
The BCM supplies a high current switched voltage to the headlamp assemblies to supply the necessary current to operate the lamps and headlamp LED park/signature lamps and to the rear lamp assemblies to operate the parking lamp Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The BCM provides a low current voltage signal to the headlamp assemblies to switch on the LED signature lamps and to the rear lamp assemblies to switch on the parking lamp Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).
The BCM also provides an Field Effect Transistor (FET) protection of the parking lamps output circuits. When an excessive current draw is detected, the BCM disables the affected parking lamps circuit driver.
