Exterior Lighting - Overview: Stoplamps

The stoplamp system consists of:
- Stoplamp switch
- Rear lamp assemblies
- Auxiliary stoplamps (part of the rear side marker lamps)
- High mounted stoplamp
- BCM
The stoplamp switch is located on the brake pedal assembly. When the brake pedal is applied and the liftgate is closed, voltage is supplied to the rear lamps and high mounted stoplamp. When the brake pedal is applied and the liftgate is open, the rear lamps mounted on the liftgate turn off and voltage is supplied to the auxiliary stoplamps (part of the rear side marker lamps).
