Rear Door Latch: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the rear door trim panel. REFER to: Rear Door Trim Panel
Remove the exterior rear door handle. REFER to: Exterior Rear Door Handle .
NOTE: Make sure the exterior rear door reinforcement is in the full aft position before tightening the screw.

Remove the exterior rear door handle plug and the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw.
1. Remove the exterior rear door handle plug.
2. Remove the exterior rear door handle reinforcement screw.

Position aside the rear door interior door handle cable and electrical harness.
1. Position the rear door interior door handle cable through the door.
2. Disconnect the rear door latch electrical connector.
3. Disconnect the rear door exterior handle harness routing clip.

Remove the rear door latch retainers.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Remove the rear door latch.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the retainers, disconnect the cables and remove the rear door latch.
