Hood Latch Release Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray. REFER to: Battery Tray .
  2. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood latch.

  3. NOTE: Insert a 10mm 1/4 inch drive socket to release the clips.

    Remove the scuff plate, the hood latch release handle, and the kick panel, and position aside the weatherstrip.

  4. Position aside the carpet.

  5. Remove the bolts, hood latch release and detach the hood latch release cable.

  6. Release the routing clip and route the hood latch release cable through the cowl.

  7. Route the hood latch release cable through the engine compartment.

  8. Position aside the BJB and remove the hood latch release cable from underneath the BJB.

    1. Remove the bolt from the BJB.
    2. Position aside the BJB.
    3. Release the cable routing clip.
    4. Remove the cable from under the BJB.
