Turbocharger RH: Installation

- Install a new filter.
- Install a new linked sealing washer.
- Install a new bolt.
- Install the turbocharger oil supply tube and then tighten the new turbocharger oil supply tube bolt in the following 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees.
- Install the new the turbocharger gasket.
- Install the turbocharger, then install and tighten the new turbocharger mounting bolts.
- Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).
- Install the turbocharger heat shield, then install and tighten the turbocharger heat shield bolts.
- Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Install the RH engine lifting eye, then install and tighten the RH engine lifting eye bolts.
- Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).

NOTE: Align the index marks for the RH CAC tube.
Install the turbocharger outlet pipe to the turbocharger and then tighten the turbocharger outlet pipe clamp. Connect the RH turbocharger bypass valve hose. Connect the RH turbocharger bypass valve electrical connector.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Install and tighten the CAC tube nut. Connect the turbocharger wastegate regulating valve hose to the CAC tube.
- Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

NOTE: Align the index marks for the CAC tube.
Install the CAC tube, and then tighten the CAC tube clamp. Connect the turbocharger bypass valve electrical connector and the turbocharger bypass valve hose.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Install the strut tower brace. then install and tighten the strut tower brace nuts.
- Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Attach the vacuum hose retainers to the strut tower brace.
- Install the new turbocharger coolant tube the sealing washers.
- Install the turbocharger coolant tubes, then install and tighten the new coolant tube bolts.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten 60 degrees.
- Install a new turbocharger oil return tube gasket and new turbocharger oil return tube O-ring seals. Lubricate the turbocharger oil return tube O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Install the turbocharger oil return tube, then install and tighten the turbocharger oil return tube bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

NOTE: Make sure the turbocharger wastegate control hose does not contact the exhaust manifold heat shield.NOTE: Align the index marks for the turbocharger inlet pipe.
Connect the turbocharger wastegate control hose. Install the turbocharger inlet pipe to the turbocharger and then tighten the turbocharger inlet pipe clamp.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
- Inspect the spring lock fitting and replace as needed.
- Stage 1: tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in)
- Stage 2: tighten an additional 450 °, NOT TO EXCEED 26 Nm (19 lb-ft) maximum torque.

NOTE: Listen for audible click when installing the oil supply tube into the quick connect fitting.
Connect the turbocharger oil supply tube to the quick connect fitting, refer to Fuel System General Information
- Install the turbocharger oil supply tube secondary latch.
- Install the front subframe. Refer to Uni-Body, Subframe and Mounting System .
- Install the RH catalytic converter. Refer to Exhaust System .
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to Engine Cooling .
- Remove the oil filler cap and install the engine appearance cover. Install the oil filler cap.
- Check and fill the engine oil level as needed with Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US); Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada) XO-5W30-QSP (US); CXO-5W30-LSP12 (Canada); or equivalent.
