Turbocharger Oil Supply Tube RH: Installation

  1. Inspect the spring lock fitting and replace as needed.

    1. Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
    2. Tighten an additional 450 degrees, do not to exceed 26 Nm maximum.

  2. Remove and discard the turbocharger oil supply tube linked sealing washer and the turbocharger oil supply tube filter.

  3. Install the turbocharger oil supply tube, then tighten the new turbocharger oil supply tube bolt in the following 2 stages.

    • Stage 1: Tighten to 18 Nm (159 lb-in).
    • Stage 2: Tighten 90 degrees.

  4. Install the turbocharger heat shield, then install and tighten the turbocharger heat shield bolts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  5. Install the RF tire. Refer to Wheels and Tires
  6. Install the RH engine lifting eye, then install and tighten the RH engine lifting eye bolts.

    • Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  7. NOTE: Listen for audible click when installing the turbocharger oil supply tube into the quick connect fitting.

    Install the RH turbocharger oil supply tube into the quick connect fitting. Refer to Fuel System General Information

  8. Install the RH turbocharger oil supply tube secondary latch.

  9. Install the HO2S connector bracket, then install and tighten the HO2S connector bracket nut. Attach the HO2S electrical connector.

    • Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in)

    • Install the RH CAC tube and tighten the clamps to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).
    • Connect the RH turbocharger bypass valve hose.
    • Connect the RH turbocharger bypass valve electrical connector.

    • Install the RH CAC tube nut and tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
    • Install the turbocharger wastegate regulating valve hose to the RH CAC tube.
    • Connect the turbocharger bypass valve electrical connector and the turbocharger bypass valve hose.

  10. Install the strut tower brace, then install and tighten the strut tower brace nuts.

    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  11. Attach the brake booster vacuum hose retainers to the strut tower brace.

  12. Remove the oil filler cap and install the engine appearance cover. Install the oil filler cap.

  13. Install the cowl panel. Refer to Front End Body Panels
  14. Check and fill the engine oil level as needed with Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil (US); Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Super Premium Motor Oil (Canada) XO-5W30-QSP (US); CXO-5W30-LSP12 (Canada); or equivalent.
