Symptom Chart: Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination

A module does not respond to the scan tool	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Module	REFER to Module Communications Network .
All dimmable illumination does not dim	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test A .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test B .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test C .
The steering wheel switch illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test D .
The LF window control switch illumination is inoperative	Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power mirrors. If the power mirrors operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to Glass, Frames and Mechanisms . If the power mirrors do not operate correctly, REFER to Rear View Mirrors .
The RF, RR or LR window control switch illumination is inoperative or always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test F .
One or more switch or component illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to Pinpoint Test E .
The IPC illumination is inoperative/does not dim	IPC	Using a scan tool, PERFORM the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the IPC, REFER to Module Communications Network . If the scan tool communicates with the IPC, click here to access Guided Routine (IPC) .
The FCIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FCIM	Using a scan tool, PERFORM the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the FCIM, REFER to Module Communications Network . If the scan tool communicates with the FCIM, INSTALL a new FCIM. REFER to Information and Entertainment Systems Tou or Information and Entertainment Systems THX .
The FDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FDIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FDIM. REFER to Information and Entertainment Systems Tou or Information and Entertainment Systems THX . If the audio system does not operate correctly, REFER to Information and Entertainment Systems Tou or Information and Entertainment Systems THX .
The RHVAC module illumination is inoperative/does not dim	RHVAC module	Using a scan tool, PERFORM the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the RHVAC module, REFER to Module Communications Network . If the scan tool communicates with the RHVAC module, INSTALL a new RHVAC module. REFER to Auxiliary Climate Control .
