Pinpoint Test Bi : DTC U0424:82

BI1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

Ignition ON.

Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?

Yes	GO to BI2.
No	The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.

BI2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

Using a scan tool, perform a network test.

Does the HVAC module pass the network test?

Yes	GO to BI3.
No	REFER to Module Communications Network , The HVAC Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.

BI3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?

Yes	For DTC U3003:16, GO to Pinpoint Test BJ .For DTC U3003:17, GO to Pinpoint Test BK .
No	GO to BI4.

BI4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE HVAC MODULE SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the HVAC module self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes	REFER to Climate Control System General Information .
No	GO to BI5.

BI5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes	REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in Multifunction Electronic Modules .
No	GO to BI6.

BI6 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs

NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the PMI may not have been carried out.

Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.

Repeat the IPC self-test.

Is DTC U0424:82 still present?

Yes	INSTALL a new HVAC module. REFER to Climate Control System . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the IPC self-test. If DTC U0424:82 is still present, Refer to: BCM Hardware Testing .
No	The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
