System Operation: Tachometer

The PCM uses the CKP sensor to measure the engine rpm. The IPC uses the engine rpm data message from the PCM to control the tachometer. The IPC uses a digital display that provides a 6, 000 rpm bar graph or a 7, 000 rpm simulated analog gauge display depending on the selected display mode.
