Drive Pinion Seal: Removal

NOTE:
The drive pinion seal is only serviceable on vehicles equipped with a stamped steel differential housing cover. Vehicles equipped with a aluminum differential housing cover replace the complete rear differential unit RDU assembly.
- 1.
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting .
- 2.
Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to Driveshaft .
- 3.
Using the Drive Pinion Flange Holding Fixture, hold the pinion flange and remove the pinion flange nut.- Discard the nut.
