Pinpoint Test Ar : The Parking Brake Warning Chime Is Inoperative

AR1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?

Yes GO to AR2.

No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .

AR2 CHECK THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the brake warning indicator.
Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?

Yes GO to AR3.

No GO to Pinpoint Test L .

AR3 CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION
- Check the speedometer for correct operation.
Does the speedometer operate?

Yes GO to AR4.

No GO to Pinpoint Test F .

AR4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes	For DTC U0140:00, GO to Pinpoint Test BA . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC CHART - IPC
No	GO to AR5.

AR5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST

Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes	REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in Multifunction Electronic Modules .
No	Refer to BCM Hardware Testing .
