Pinpoint Test AJ : The Check Fuel Fill Inlet Message Is Never Or Always Displayed

AJ1 CHECK THE MESSAGE CENTER OPERATION

NOTE: If multiple warnings are present, the message center cycles through each of the warning indicators. Allow the message center to cycle through each display while determining whether the door ajar message center warning indicator is active.
- Close all doors and the luggage compartment lid.
- Ignition ON.
- Clear all message center popup warnings by pressing the OK button for each warning present.
- Monitor the door ajar message center warning indicator.
- Open the driver door.
- Clear the message center popup warning.
- Monitor the door ajar message center warning indicator.
Does the driver door ajar message center warning indicator turn off with the driver door closed and illuminate with the driver door open?

Yes GO to AJ2.

No Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .

AJ2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the KOEO self-test.

Is DTC P0457 recorded?

Yes

If the CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message is always displayed, REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - SYMPTOM CHARTS (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) If the CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message is never displayed, GO to AJ3.

If the CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message is always displayed, INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls . If the check fuel cap indicator is never displayed, the system is operating normally at this time. If the fuel cap was left off and the CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message did not turn on, driving conditions may not have been met for the PCM to run the cruise test and message the IPC to display the CHECK FUEL FILL INLET message.

AJ3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST

Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

Are any DTCs recorded?

Yes	For DTC U0100:00, GO to Pinpoint Test AV . For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC CHART - IPC
No	INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to Electronic Engine Controls .

Yes	GO to AJ2.
No	Refer to IPC Hardware Testing .
