Pinpoint Test BC: DTC U0154:00

  1. BC1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

    Is an observable symptom present? 

    1. Yes  : GO to BC2  .
    2. No  : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  2. BC2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK 
    • Using a scan tool, perform a network test.

    Does the OCSM pass the network test? 

    1. Yes  : GO to BC3  .
    2. No  : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The OCSM Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
  3. BC3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE OCSM SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the OCSM self-test.

    Are any DTCs recorded? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
    2. No  : GO to BC4  .
  4. BC4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded? 

    1. Yes  : For DTC U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .

      For DTC U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BK .

    2. No  : GO to BC5  .
  5. BC5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs 
    • Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
    • Repeat the IPC self-test.

    Is DTC U0154:00 still present? 

    1. Yes  : GO to BC6  .
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  6. BC6 CHECK FOR DTC U0154:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES 
    • Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Wait 10 seconds.
    • Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
    • Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.

    Is DTC U0154:00 set in the Restraints Control Module (RCM)? 

    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new OCSM. REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
