Pinpoint Test Ax: DTC U0121:00
- AX1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes : GO to AX2 .
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AX2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the ABS module pass the network test?
- Yes : GO to AX3 .
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- AX3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE ABS MODULE SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded DTCs from the ABS module self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL .
- No : GO to AX4 .
- AX4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .
For DTC U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BK .
- No : GO to AX5 .
- AX5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U0121:00 still present?
- Yes : GO to AX6 .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- AX6 CHECK FOR DTC U0121:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
Is DTC U0121:00 set in the BCM?
- Yes : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) AND STABILITY CONTROL .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
