Pinpoint Test AP: The Lane Keeping Aid Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AP1 CHECK THE HEADLAMPS ON WARNING CHIME OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Place the headlamps switch in the parking or headlamp on position.
    • Open the LH front door and observe the headlamps on warning chime operation.

    Does the headlamps on warning chime operate? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AP2  .
    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
  2. AP2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    1. Yes  : For DTC U023A:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST BG .

      For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC CHART - IPC .

    2. No  : GO to AP3  .
  3. AP3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPM-A SELF-TEST 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPM-A self-test.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to the IPM-A DTC Chart in LANE DEPARTURE WARNING .
    2. No  : GO to AP4  .
  4. AP4 CHECK THE LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM OPERATION 
    • Verify the lane departure warning system operates correctly.

    Does the lane departure warning system operate correctly? 

    1. Yes  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Inform the customer that this chime only operates with the hands off the steering wheel.
    2. No  : REFER to LANE DEPARTURE WARNING .
