Pinpoint Test Am: The BLIS®/CTA Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AM1 CHECK THE HEADLAMPS ON WARNING CHIME OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Place the headlamps switch in the parking or headlamp on position.
    • Open the LH front door and observe the headlamps on warning chime operation.

    Does the headlamps on warning chime operate? 

    1. Yes  : GO to AM2  .
    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
  2. AM2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    1. Yes  : For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST BA .

      For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC CHART - IPC .

    2. No  : GO to AM3  .
  3. AM3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    1. Yes  : REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
    2. No  : GO to AM4  .
  4. AM4 CHECK THE BLIS®/CTA OPERATION 
    • Verify the BLIS®/CTA system operates.

    Does the BLIS®/CTA system operate? 

    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
    2. No  : REFER to SIDE AND REAR VISION .
