Pinpoint Test Av: DTC U0100:00

AV1 VERIFY THAT THE SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATES WITH THE PCM
- Ignition ON.
- Connect a scan tool.
- Check that a vehicle session can be established using the scan tool.
Can a vehicle session be established?
- Yes : GO to AV2 .
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
AV2 CHECK THE IPC CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTCs
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Clear the DTCs.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Repeat the self-test.
Is DTC U0100:00 retrieved again?
- Yes : GO to AV3 .
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
AV3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS or ENGINE CONTROLS - SYMPTOM CHARTS (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 3) .
- No : GO to AV4 .
AV4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes : For DTC U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .
  For DTC U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BK .
- No : GO to AV5 .
AV5 CHECK FOR DTC U0100:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, retrieve all continuous memory DTCs.
Is DTC U0100:00 set in the ABS module or in the Restraints Control Module (RCM)?
- Yes : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
