Pinpoint Test Ar: The Parking Brake Warning Chime Is Inoperative
- AR1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes : GO to AR2 .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
- AR2 CHECK THE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Apply the parking brake.
- Ignition ON.
- Observe the brake warning indicator.
Does the brake warning indicator illuminate?
- Yes : GO to AR3 .
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST L .
- AR3 CHECK THE SPEEDOMETER OPERATION
- Check the speedometer for correct operation.
Does the speedometer operate?
- Yes : GO to AR4 .
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST F .
- AR4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U0140:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST BA .
For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC CHART - IPC .
- No : GO to AR5 .
- AR5 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE BCM SELF-TEST
- Check for recorded BCM DTCs from the self-test.
Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to the BCM DTC Chart in MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES .
- No : INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
