Pinpoint Test F: The Speedometer Is Inoperative

  1. F1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE PCM KOEO SELF-TEST 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Using a scan tool, perform the PCM KOEO self-test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded? 
    1. Yes  : REFER to ENGINE CONTROLS - SYMPTOM CHARTS (EXCEPT DIESEL & HYBRID) (SECTION 3) .
    2. No  : GO to F2.
  2. F2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST 
    • Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
    • Are any DTCs recorded? 
    1. Yes  : For DTC U0100:00, GO to PINPOINT TEST AV .

      For all other DTCs, REFER to DTC Chart - IPC .

    2. No  : GO to F3.
  3. F3 CARRY OUT THE SPEEDOMETER ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL 
    • Using a scan tool, view the IPC PIDs.
    • Select the IPC speedometer (SPDOMETER) PID.
    • Command the speedometer on and off while monitoring the speedometer.
    • Does the speed begin at 0 km/h (0 mph) move to 225 km/h (140 mph) and return to 0 km/h (0 mph)? 
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS .
    2. No  : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
