Fuel Lines: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

1.

Refer to: Gasoline and Gasoline-Ethanol Fuel Systems Health and Safety Precautions .

2.

Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .

3.

Remove the battery. Refer to: Battery .

4.

Disconnect the fuel jumper tube-to-fuel injection pump spring lock coupling. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vapor tube quick release coupling. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector, and disconnect the 2 front brake tube fitting-to-middle brake tube fitting.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

5.

Remove the crossmember support crossbrace.

6.

Remove the 4 crossmember support bracket-to-body bolts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

7.

Remove the 2 crossmember support bracket nuts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (47 Nm)

8.

Remove the Right Hand (RH) crossmember support bracket.

9.

Remove and discard the Right Hand (RH) subframe rearward bolt.
Torque: 103 lb.ft (140 Nm)

10.

To install, tighten the new subframe rearward bolt in 2 stages.

11.

Remove the 2 crossmember support bracket-to-body bolts.
Torque: 46 lb.ft (62 Nm)

12.

Remove the 6 nuts and position aside the exhaust heat shield.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

13.

Disconnect the 2 middle brake tube fitting-to-rear brake tube fitting. Disconnect the fuel supply tube and Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vapor tube quick release coupling.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

Disconnect the 5 fuel tube bundle retainers and remove fuel tube bundle.
